Save Money If Your Plans Change
No matter how hard anyone tries, sometimes things change. In fact, the average reservation has three changes made to it between time of deposit and time of travel. Classic charges $35 per person for every change and $50 per person for cancellation unless the waiver is purchased. Often changes can result in additional charges from the hotels as well.

That's why we created the Classic Hawaii Change and Cancellation Waiver. We recommend that you purchase the Waiver at the time of your booking for each adult over 18 in your party. Purchasing the Waiver will guarantee that once your deposit and waiver fee are received, you will not be charged for:

  • hotel, air, and car rental prices increases;
  • hotel change or cancellation fees unless otherwise noted;
  • cancellation fees for tours and activities if cancelled 24 hours in advance;
  • airline change or cancellation penalties except with certain restrictive published fares as noted;
  • any change or cancellation fees from Classic Custom Vacations prior to or during travel for any reason.
The price of the Classic Hawaii Change and Cancellation Waiver is $59 per person.* Purchasing the Waiver secures the price of your vacation and can often save you hundreds of dollars.

O'ahu, the Gathering Place

Postcard from O'ahu
Hiked Diamond Head Crater in the early morning. The view was 360 degrees and it was just the way to start the vacation. Stopped at a local place for breakfast of Portuguese sausage and rice. The people in Hawaii are just so warm and hospitable, you always feel welcome here.

Spent the afternoon at the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the U.S. Toured the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor — it was very moving.

Tonight we're trying a Pacific Rim restaurant, Indigo, in downtown Honolulu. Tomorrow we're going to the North Shore to watch the surfers and to explore Haleiwa, a little town on that side of the island.

This is just a great place for a long weekend!

O'ahu Intro
O'ahu is a fascinating mix of different cultures and packed with fun vacation activities. Here you'll find world-famous Waikiki Beach, lush rain forests, huge surfing waves, great boutique shopping, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and America's only royal palace, Iolani Palace. Amazingly, despite being Hawaii's most populated island, Oahu still offers some of the most beautiful beaches and scenic trails of all the islands.

Oahu is 594 square miles, 44 miles long, 30 miles wide, with a population of 863,100 and 1,122 miles of coastline.

Hawaiian Legends
Long ago the Hawaiian Islands came up from the sea and lay barren. The sun god had not yet come. The tree god came and made seeds and planted some near the beach, on the plains, and in the gulches. Although trees grew, the dim light of the stars and moon was not enough and they withered away.

The tree god searched for his trees, but there were none until he came to the gulches. These little trees had leaves like moonlight seen through floating clouds. Kukui trees still grow in gulches; with the light of the sun their new leaves are green. As the leaves grow they turn silvery. The trees remember that it was the moon that gave light to their ancestors.
